From Stardom to Stagehand in Las Vegas
Coyote has always looked good in black. Now he has to wear black to work again. Black steel toe boots. Black pants. Black belt. Black Rhino shirt. Tan leather gloves. (Well, the gloves are black palmed from pushing road cases and building stages in the MGM Grand Arena, The Orleans, and many convention centers and casinos.)
This is also a pay raise from the temp jobs Coyote was working the past couple months.
"I especially like this job because it's kinda like my movie days," says our dreamy doggey. "It's a lot different than the movie sets and commercials I worked on in the eighties and nineties," continues Coyote. "In a movie scene you make it look right, then wait around and build the next scene or set. Then stand around some more. In this stagehand business we set up the lights and leave. Then we come back when the event or concert is over, take it all down, pack it back up, load it onto the trucks in big black road cases. It's similar but different from the movie business."
Asked which he'd rather do, the Zen Pup replied, "Neither. I'm ready to be the star now. My time as a lighting director and cinematographer are behind me. Technology has changed and left me behind with the 35mm Hollywood films. I want to direct my own movies, produce and star in my 66 Kung Fu and Tai Chi videos for shaolinINTERACTIVE.com, and travel the world doing book signings."
So it looks like the Coyote's path is stardom to stagehand to stardom.

Website Moves and Downsizing
In a similar manner to the 1992 movie to Utah, this move to Nevada also resulted in a loss of all business incomes and family relationships beyond expectations.
The financial hardships Coyote had been suffering since 2008 when his family was evicted from the Tujunga home were not as severe as the complete loss of all family relationships, and the loss of all students who pay anywhere from $50 to $150 per month for Buddha Kung Fu classes.
"The last time I had zero students was... well, I always had my kids for students--even after the black widow spider bite I made them keep exercising and practicing their 12 Tantuis. The Kung Fu really helped Caitlin get through her growing pains of her early teens. The Tai Chi also helped mellow out her mental pains."
To reduce costs we're dropping a couple of domain names. We should auction them as they are worth something, but survival has come down to a $10 bill.
In an upgrade that resulted in a lower monthly hosting fee, Shaolin Communications changed website servers. No one called or complained but it took Coyote several days to upload the 96 websites from the Las Vegas library where he was limited to only two hours of internet activity per day. The nightmare was traumatized by also changing host server programs from an older version of Plesk to a newer version.
"There were so many changes in the server control panel program I could not figure it out-- it was very frustrating," sighed our sad dog.
Finally, one of the salesmen asked a technician who told him how to do it, that when spoken back to Coyote provided the missing techniques to enable Coyote to figure out the new server interface program.
"I can't wait to hire someone to do all this webmastering," states Coyote with conviction.

Revolutionary Casino Design by Buddha Zhen
As Coyote was preparing for his departure from Las Vegas, he also envisioned what would make him stay.
"To build this casino, I would return," says Coyote. "This casino would change the future. Every casino in the world would have to upgrade or utilize at least a few of the dozens of design enhancements created by me," proudly states Richard Connor.
"This casino would create an entirely new demographic of customers including..."
"I'd probably make a lot of enemies too," says our coy Coyote. "Every casino in the world would have to make some sort of change or enhancement in their casionos because of what my casino would offer. People would be disappointed if they couldn't offer some of these simple perks," he chuckles.

- - RICHARD DEL CONNOR NEWS: Masonic
Kung Fu and Freemasonry - -
Masonic Kung Fu Performed for Nevada Freemason Grand Master
Coyote finally got his chance to perform the "Masonic Kung Fu" for his Nevada masonic brethren. The Grand Master of all the Nevada lodges visits the Daylite 44 lodge each year. Coyote performed his "Masonic Kung Fu" martial arts dance in the large meeting hall used for dining. First, Coyote performed the "Lian Bu / Ling Po" form as he learned it and impressed everyone with his deadly Kung Fu skills. Then he performed the "Masonic Kung Fu Public Version" for the audience of Master Masons and some spouses and persons not allowed to see our secret dugards and hand signs.
Coyote received a huge applause and was approached by many excited masons who had studied some Karate, or some Wing Chun...
But Coyote broke away and sat with the Grand Master and his high ranking visiting officers to get some feedback from them. They were all impressed and had suggestions about pursuing more of the history of this unique treasure of Masonic history. They convinced Coyote to allow the Nevada Research Lodge to be involved.
This led to Coyote attending the Nevada Masonic Research Lodge with the Nevada Grand Master. At the end of the meeting a couple of the senior members stood up and complimented Coyote while also stating that, "this has been the most exciting meeting the Nevada Research Lodge has ever had."
They gave Coyote a registration form to join the Research Lodge and... but Coyote has already scheduled his U-Haul rental for the last day of May.
A mason "in good standing," is a mason who has paid his annual dues.
With his second-from-the-last Las Vegas Rhino paycheck, Coyote pays his annual Freemason dues.
A thousand years ago, the masons membership card was their passport from country to country. Not even diplomats or priests got through border crossings as easily as the masons did. Every country honored them and wanted them to build something monumental for them.
Coyote is no longer planning to reside in Las Vegas, but would return there to build his dream casino.
"But that's one of the exciting benefits of being a Master Mason," says Richard. "You can travel from lodge to lodge and from country to country very easily and be greeted with a friendly handshake. I look forward to a lot of that."
