Bass Tracks Completed on I WANT YOU TO LOVE ME

Tom Calder, bassist of American Zen, completed the bass tracks for the upcoming album, LEVEL 3 = I WANT YOU TO LOVE ME. Using the same 1959 Rickenbacker bass as on the previous two albums, Tom and Coyote came up with a new plan for this album.

“Coyote’s been reminiscing about his childhood lately,” explains Tom Calder. “He was always bragging about what a great “Boogie Woogie” player he was on the piano. So we started jamming up some boogie woogie and decided that the walking and bouncing bass lines would be a way to add some life and joy to some rather sad romantic songs of Coyote. He was planning on this album being more romantic, but by the time we started this album, he’d broken up with his red haired girlfriend.”

Autumn Flavours

We are going to wait until Autumn 2008 to release this book.

In the meantime check out the UTAH PHASE 1 poetry book. Both of these poetry books are scanned copies of Coyote’s copy of the poetry books. The UTAH PHASE 1 poetry book was used to record the songs and poems of both albums, LEVEL 1 = PEACE OF MIND, and LEVEL 2 = CHRIST KILLER.

“This AUTUMN FLAVOURS poetry book was the copy I used for giving poetry readings in Utah,” explains Coyote. “The green pen handwritten notes on the bottom of each page were reminders to me of what the poems were about so I could perform them better and answer questions about the origins of the poems.”

Coyote’s poetry was so well received that he was included in three poetry books of Utah artists. “Mostly housewives,” laughs Coyote, “but they liked my wild hippie poetry. My performances were very mellow though. I didn’t want to scare them away. Mostly I performed my thoughtful, cute, and romantic poetry. This poetry book, AUTUMN FLAVOURS, only had a couple poems I used, like “Genodus.”"

Warning: There is some violent, bizarre, and weird poetry in this first book of poetry by Coyote. All poems were written between 1974 and 1978.
