Coyote, The Hippy Coyote, is also Richard Del Connor, the ORGANIST of Freemason Panamericana Lodge 513, of the Free & Accepted Masons of California. As Masonic Organist, Coyote sat in the corner of the lodge, flanked by a small upright piano, and pipe organ. Coyote was installed as the Organist of Panamericana 513, with the understanding by the Master of the lodge, Louie Bizarro, that Coyote would perform on flute and acoustic guitar, rather than the traditional organs and piano of Mason lodges dating back to when Mozart was the Organist of his Mason Lodge in Europe.
Visitors from other lodges always complimented Coyote on his unique arrangements and his ability to play music that added to the ceremonies. Several other Masters of the Lodge were reluctant and resistant to Coyote's additions to otherwise silent ceremonies and initiations. However, by the end of the year, the wives of the Masters and their children became fans of Coyote who performed a special concert for a lodge fundraiser in 2009. This concert was the motivation for Coyote to create the album, 4 DECADES OF LOVE. Coyote pulled 4 romantic songs from the 1970s, plus 4 romantic songs from the 1980s, plus 4 romantic songs he'd written in the 1990s, plus 4 more songs written since moving to California in 2000, to create a 16 song album that spans 36 years of Coyote's life.
Probably all of these songs on 4 DECADES OF LOVE were written on Coyote's Alvarez guitar.
Coyote thanks all his friends and fellow musicians for their interest in helping him acquire another acoustic guitar, but Coyote doesn't seem interested in replacing his acoustic guitar.
Coyote'd been shopping for another acoustic this past decade, for touring especially. He contacted the Alvarez Guitar Company several times for an endorsement, and researched the Martin guitar line, of which he has a Martin Bass Ukulele from the 1950s he inherited from his namesake uncle, Richard E. Warner, the famous World Health Organization biologist who discovered the DDT in the osprey eggs in the 1950s. Some consider him to the father of environmental biology.
Instead, Coyote has plugged his 1984 Fender Stratocaster electric guitar into the microphone input of his old cassette player, and now practices daily, jamming away through his soulbox.
