MONTROSE, CA November 23, 2008 - American Zen, America’s first Buddhist rock band, have released a uniquely romantic and poetic album. Along with the 11 songs about love, The Hippy Coyote wrote and performed all the instruments to tell the tale of his lost loves. The album continues with 12 poems first recited by Coyote, then he played bass tracks under the poetry that boosts its appeal signicantly. Some poems include up to three basses playing in harmony behind the poetry.

The entire album, LEVEL 3 = I WANT YOU TO LOVE ME, was recorded in Coyote’s Tujunga living room while being evicted. Coyote was barely able to complete the record two days before the Sheriffs locked them out of their home.

All the songs were sung in one evening with each song being completed with background vocals before proceeding to the next song. At 5:30am Coyote completed his album that he believes is a masterpiece. The poetry was recited in one night and then, on a whim, The Hippy Coyote sat down one last time before packing up his computer and guitars to record all the bass tracks on all 12 poems.
