Tujunga, California – July 10, 2006 – American Zen, America's first Buddhist rock band, released their first album in 2005, Level 1 = Peace Of Mind.
Famous record producer #1 took a stab at the Coyote Radio Tujunga album. He made a couple of good points including his tip to, "always use the low pass filter." The album will be pretty easy to mix once a few "bumps" are edited out. These may not have been as noticeable had I used the low pass filter.
He wasn't real happy with my microphones. So I went out and bought a real nice condensor microphone for future projects, the Perfection by AKG. Nice!
The first two albums, LEVEL 1 = PEACE OF MIND and LEVEL 2 = CHRIST KILLER were recorded with my AKG 414 and Shure SM57 microphones.
An old buddy, recording engineer of mine from the eighties, Bob Shames, had a very unique way of recording the acoustic guitar. For our COYOTE IN A GRAVEYARD soundtrack album, he recorded the acoustic guitar with an amazing condensor microphone and then doubled it with a stereo phaser by Maestro, that was already extinct in the eighties--creating a kind of "Hammond Leslie Speaker Cabinet" effect as the guitar throbbed...
