LEVEL
1 = PEACE OF MIND is American Zen's first album on
Shaolin Records.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tujunga, California - March 18, 2005:
American Zen, America's first Buddhist rock band, is releasing their
first album in 2005, Level
1 = Peace Of Mind. The album consists of 11 songs and
11 recited poems by The Coyote.
American Zen is an exclusive artist of Shaolin Records.
Shaolin Records will be releasing the debut album of American Zen on February 21, 2004 at a live taping of the COYOTE RADIO TV show.
The CD accompanying this letter has 3 songs:
1. "Black Of Night"
2. "Simple Lady"
3. "Dear Mom"
The first song, "Black
Of Night," is from the debut album of American
Zen, LEVEL
1 = PEACE OF MIND. Written by The Coyote shortly after
moving to Utah, the song tells of the hardships and dangers he faced.
This is almost hard rock from a folk rock band. Most people agree
that this is CLASSIC ROCK, but these are new recordings...
The second song, "Simple
Lady," is also from the debut album, LEVEL
1 = Peace Of Mind. This song compares to romantic songs
by The Beatles, such as "Yesterday,"
or "Ruby Tuesday," by The Rolling
Stones.
The third song, "Dear
Mom," has just been chosen for a NY stageplay.
Although the song was written by Coyote for the rock musical, Sid's
Place, about a teenager going underground in 1969,
the stageplay author thought this song would do well to depict a
young man going off to war. The haunting sincerity of both love
and anguish were composed by The Coyote, who himself was deported
in 1970 to Newfoundland, Canada, where he...
The AMERICAN ZEN TEAM needs the following:
1. An entertainment attorney (who understands the music industry and stageplays)
2. A booking agent for Coyote (currently performing solo on acoustic and flute)
3. A business manager (who handles either our P&D deals or runs our custom label, Shaolin Records)
4. A songplugger (Shaolin Music-ASCAP, has 500 songs of which 300 are by The Coyote)
5. A roadie (Coyote usually trains a few of our Kung Fu students)
6. A press agent (marketing and radio promotion)
7. A sound man (Coyote usually uses the soundmen from our Tai Chi Youth Demo Team)
8. A light man (could be a girl)
Thanks for your help and advice.
