A recent discussion with someone in Australia revealed a perspective of what Folk Rock is: Poetry.

Rather than saying my, "My baby left me...with cousin Fred...,"
but in a folk rock song you'd say, "love is a diamond...stolen from my dreams..."

Folk rock requires poetry. Not just lyrics, but poetic lyrics. Folk rock is rock poetry?
