American Zen's fourth album, LEVEL 4 = Kung Fu Cowboy PART 1: King Solomon's Temple,
has become the Freemason story about Hiram Abif, who was murdered in King Solomon's Temple.
LEVEL 4 = Kung Fu Cowboy PART 2: 3rd Degree Master Mason
was the story of One-Man-Band Coyote becoming a Master Mason, but now takes place in China, a century ago.

Soldiers = Spider Killers
Coyote sees the benefits of military women.
"If we were to pay all of those soldiers to kill spiders, scorpions, mosquitoes...the world would be a better place."
"For the past 3,000 years, wars have resulted in mostly male casualties. This was a world of women, holding down the home front."
"Now that women would rather sleep in the dirt of Iraq, more men can stay home and take care of the kids," giggles Coyote.
"Male soldiers can tolerate bugs better than women, so, I see the future of our female army as SPIDER KILLERS. I anticipate multi-colored barracks. For 100 years, we've kept our forts, barracks, and equipment gray or green. How long until we see blue? Pink would have been unthinkable 20 years ago, but watch!"
Coyote doesn't claim to foresee the future, just the likelihood of our new future, based on new information. Although Coyote supported the Women's Liberation Movement during the 1970s, he's become, "an old-fashioned chauvinist," who finally accepts the new non-family world of working women.
A story my mom used to tell my girlfriends: "When Rick (she calls me, "Rick," while my brothers and dad call me, "Dickie Dare.") was young (probably 12 or 13) he wouldn't stand up to the neighborhood girls. One time Debby (a neighbor girl two years older than me) chased him all the way from her house into our living room. She was still hitting him with her shoe as he hugged me for protection. I told him, "Hit her back," but he wouldn't. (I'm 56 years old and I still can't hit a girl.)
In the rock opera, LEVEL 4 = Kung Fu Cowboy PART 1: King Solomon's Temple, the song, "Kill The Spider," Hiram Abif is being chased by the three Fellowcraft Masons of King Solomon's Temple who at the end of the song, kill him.

About American Zen
American Zen is led by The Hippy Coyote who fronted the band on flute and acoustic guitar from 1992 to 2009. After losing his acoustic guitar, Coyote says he intends to be the best classic rock electric guitarist in the world. Coyote is the "Kung Fu Cowboy" who studies Shaolin Kung Fu, and Freemasonry. Richard Del Connor, The Hippy Coyote, became a 3rd Degree Master Mason in February 2009. He immediately became the "Organist," of his Panamericana Lodge 513 of the Free & Accepted Masons of California. This Masonry education included the legendary story of Hiram Abif, who was murdered when King Solomon's Temple was near completion. Coyote transformed his personal life story into the story of Hiram Abif. The PART 2: 3rd Degree Master Mason album to be released in 2011, was also transformed from the story of Coyote becoming a Master Mason, to the story of a Chinese Master Mason a century ago. Coyote is finished being Mr. Mom, a job he got trapped in since 1992. Now, in 2010, Coyote is relaunching his entertainment careers performing all the instruments and singing all the vocals on the American Zen albums. In the past five years, Coyote has released five music albums and published five books and launched the new Buddha Kung Fu schools and Kung Fu Bootcamps. Coyote has also invented "bass poetry," by combining his spoken word poetry with his melodic and harmonic bass playing style. In a world where people find it difficult to master one art or skill, Coyote has mastered songwriting, composing, poetry, record engineering and production, singing, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, slide guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, trombone, flute, percussion, and drums. Coyote is probably the best one-man band on the planet.
