LEVEL 2 = CHRIST KILLER is American Zen's second album on Shaolin Records
     and their 2nd Level of Shaolin Zen Buddhism.

After years of trying to lure his bandmates back, our lonely hippie decided to take up the drums. “For forty years I’ve been dependent upon drummers to help me build or perform my songs in the studio. Normally, each year I learn, or relearn a Kung Fu weapon. I decided that in 2007 I would make THE DRUMS my weapon of the year. By 2008 I was getting pretty good and recorded a few songs on Buddha Zhen’s album, TAI CHI MAGIC 1. Two songs may use the drum set, otherwise I just tore up the drum set and played the drums individually Chinese style,” explains Coyote.

“But LEVEL 3 = I WANT YOU TO LOVE ME is my first album as a real drummer. There are only two songs that I didn’t put my drumset on: “All Alone,” and “Change Your Mind.” Those songs had my 50 gallon black oil drum and I wanted to keep them that way in remembrance of my first drum: that 50 gallon black drum from Utah. I’ve still got the drumhead-lid because it’s all beat up and looks like a big black rose flower with its cracks...”

Coyote also invented a new style of poetry: “bass poetry.”
