Buddha Zhen's first Kung Fu school, Shaolin Chi Mantis, began the annual July Push Hands Tournaments in 1994.
Currently, the competitive torch has been passed from Shaolin Chi Mantis to Tai Chi Youth and now from Tai Chi Youth to Buddha Kung Fu.
"Tai Chi Youth is not going to be very active this year," Buddha Zhen says. "The TCY Board of Trustees were having trouble in 2007 before launching Buddha Kung Fu this year, in 2008. Otherwise, Tai Chi Youth would be a bigger part of this tournament and support the tournament with more donations."
