Coyote Wants To Push You Around

American Zen's fourth album, LEVEL 4 = Kung Fu Cowboy PART 1: King Solomon's Temple,
has become the Freemason story about Hiram Abiff, who was murdered in King Solomon's Temple.
LEVEL 4 = Kung Fu Cowboy PART 2: 3rd Degree Master Mason
was the story of One-Man-Band Coyote becoming a Master Mason, but now takes place in China, a century ago.
KUNG FU COWBOY will probably end up being a 4-album series.

Coyote Promotes Push Hands Tournaments of Buddha Kung Fu

Last month, Coyote's Kung Fu school, Buddha Kung Fu, held the Summer Push Hands Tournament at Crescenta Valley Park, in LaCrescenta, California. This tournament and the upcoming PUSH HANDS CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT are sponsored by Shaolin Chi Mantis and Tai Chi Youth.

Although the public and other Kung Fu schools are encouraged to attend and compete in these tournaments, they are held annually to satisfy the belt testing requirements of the Buddha Kung Fu students. Each BKF Belt Rank includes Push Hands training and at least one Push Hands Tournament competition. The students don't have to list their final scores on their Belt Test Approval Sheets, but they do have to list the date of the tournament they competed in.

Buddha Kung Fu and Tai Chi Youth are offshoots of Shaolin Chi Mantis Traditional Buddhist Gongfu and Taijiquan. The Belt Test Approval sheets were created originally for Shaolin Chi Mantis and have been adapted to each of the franchises who have different belt testing requirements than each other.

Push Hands is Tai Chi sparring. There are several styles of Push Hands competitions. All SCM schools utilize the "Fixed Step Push Hands." The rules only require a student to lift one foot off the ground for their opponent to gain one point. After 30 seconds of competition, the competitors change stance with their right feet in front for the second half of the competition. If there is a tie score at the end of the second half, the winner wins by "sudden death," which means the first person to gain a point wins the match.

Shaolin Chi Mantis has been promoting Push Hands tournaments since 1994. The Summer Push Hands Tournament is held each July with three weekends of seminars preceding it. The Push Hands Championship Tournament is held each September with three weekends of Pushing Hands seminars preceding it.

Last year's Summer Push Hands Tournament winners included a fellow Freemason of Coyote, David Rush, of the Beverly Hills Mason Lodge.

About American Zen
American Zen is led by The Hippy Coyote who fronted the band on flute and acoustic guitar from 1992 to 2009. After losing his acoustic guitar, Coyote says he intends to be the best classic rock electric guitarist in the world. Coyote is the "Kung Fu Cowboy" who studies Shaolin Kung Fu, and Freemasonry. Richard Del Connor, The Hippy Coyote, became a 3rd Degree Master Mason in February 2009. He immediately became the "Organist," of his Panamericana Lodge 513 of the Free & Accepted Masons of California. This Masonry education included the legendary story of Hiram Abif, who was murdered when King Solomon's Temple was near completion. Coyote transformed his personal lifestory into the story of Hiram Abif. The PART 2: 3rd Degree Master Mason album to be released in 2011, was also transformed from the story of Coyote becoming a Master Mason, to the story of a Chinese Master Mason a century ago. Coyote is finished being Mr. Mom, a job he got trapped in since 1992. Now, in 2010, Coyote is relaunching his entertainment careers performing all the instruments and singing all the vocals on the American Zen albums. In the past five years, Coyote has released five music albums and published five books and launched the new Buddha Kung Fu schools and Kung Fu Bootcamps. Coyote has also invented "bass poetry," by combining his spoken word poetry with his melodic and harmonic bass playing style. In a world where people find it difficult to master one art or skill, Coyote has mastered songwriting, composing, poetry, record engineering and production, singing, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, slide guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, trombone, flute, percussion, and drums. Coyote is probably the best one-man band on the planet.

NOTE: The quickest and cheapest way to catch up with Coyote and experience LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2, and LEVEL 3 of American Zen's Buddhist Odyssey, is to purchase the TRIPLE TRILOGY OF AMERICAN ZEN.
