Richard Del Connor, The Hippy Coyote is living in Los Angeles... wherever he is parked.
In 2012 Coyote was stung by a scorpion after being hired to star in Kung Fu Cowboy Rock & Roll Movie 1.
In 2013, Shaolin Pictures is producing the action/comedy Kung Fu Cowboy Rock & Roll Movie 1 starring The Hippy Coyote.

Kung Fu Cowboy Rock & Roll Movie 1 is a screenplay. This blueprint for the movie was completed on Scott Karahadian's birthday. After 4 drafts it was considered complete as version #4k was sent to the Writer's Guild and the Library of Congress for registration and copyrights.
"There will be a few more drafts after we get it cast," explains Richard Del Connor, coauthor of the screenplay. "But this is close enough for budgeting and casting the characters.
Richard and Scott immediately began budgeting and "the breakdown" of the screenplay. A friend of Scott's family hired Scott to 'house-sit' for them while they travel in Germany. "Even though I still slept in my car, it was nice having their huge house to work all day in," says Richard.
The budget is almost complete as they gather prices for film and the labor costs of their crew, and the truck and equipment rentals. "I haven't done this kind of work since the mid-eighties," says Richard. "We've been looking at samples of shooting digital versus 35mm film. There are so many things to consider and technologies have changed incredibly since I was in the movie business. We're spending ten hours per day just researching, gathering quotes, and looking at samples and catalogues."
Everyone's trying to push us into shooting digital. We're leaning toward shooting film, but considering all suggestions.

Kung Fu Cowboy Hacks Off Heads
Scott and I have had many discussions on this topic. As a Buddhist, as Kung Fu Buddhist... I am opposed to killing people. That's not to say I don't feel like it sometimes.
My book, Sid's Place, explores this concept of when it might be right to terminate an evil person. See if you agree with Coyote's conclusion.
I proposed using saquaro cacti to simulate the slicing and dicing... but it looks like I'm going to be very violent in at least one huge battle. Scott proposes that his stylizing the visuals will defang my sensibilities here.

This is a cool website book. Someday I've got to update it... no, I'll just create an additional website that has the current songs and lyrics from the final album. This album changed a bit when I decided to make it about Hiram Abif instead of me.
I've created a musical video for each song that will all combine to create a "MUSIC MOVIE." It's a big produiction though. In "Flintridge Fire," we have to burn down Jerusalem. (A large part of it.) Making a studio version of King Solomon's temple will also be daunting. Perhaps there is a Masonic Temple that I could use?

How's that Alvarez sound? This may be the last album released with the Alvarez 12-string Coyote has used on a majority of his songs since 1973.
I may have enough other song masters recorded from those years 2003 to 2005. That's when I was performing all the time on acoustic and made those 10 live cable shows of "Coyote Radio." Most of these solo recorded songs were rehearsals for my live cable shows in Tujunga and Van Nuys.

Kung Fu Cowboy Movie = 21 songs
We've read the script, acting out the parts and timed it to see how long our screenplay is. It's 96 minutes.
The songs will have to fit in accordingly, or the action fit to the song... but in some cases we only use part of a song in the movie. The entire song will be on the soundtrack album, but in the movie we'll also remix some or all of the songs, sometimes removing the vocal entirely.
It's an exciting challenge to see how we will put the songs in the movie. I've even come up with some neat surround sound mix ideas for the music.

Coyote designed this system because of the nature of ebooks, which alter fonts, page sizes and small screens. Ebook readers such as the Kindle, allow the viewer to alter many aspects of the book page, but do not allow spaces between words and letters. This inspired Coyote to insert the underscores to keep the guitar chords above the appropriate lyrics.

The American Zen Buddhist Rock Podcast
I've reclaimed the website used to post the podcasts. Let's see what I can do with it.
I've been travelling around the past three years with two dozen unreleased podcasts.
Before Coyote was evicted, his computer blew up. This put Shaolin Records out of business and shut down our recording studio. We had a couple dozen podcasts, not yet released that have never been released. Coyote put them on a flash jump drive and uploaded the last few podcasts from the YMCA and the local library... But then when he became homeless, the fees of the additional podcast servers became impossible to afford.
We appealed for help to our relatives, students, friends, and donors... but 2010 and 2011 resulted in no donations to Tai Chi Youth nonprofit and a reduction in students in our Buddha Kung Fu schools.
I'm considering just posting them on our last remaining Shaolin Communications servers. The problem is, these are high quality podcasts of 192kb and often more than 20 minutes... sometimes over an hour. If we become popular again -- we will overload our Shaolin Communications servers, incur additional expenses and shut down everything.
Still, I would like to post them and increase our advertising accordingly.

Scott Karahadian and Richard Del Connor have been scripting some basic scenes and aspects of the Buddha Kung Fu classes.
To further his understanding of the classes, Scott Karahadian has been taking private lessons from Buddha Zhen. He really enjoys the basic workout.
Buddha Zhen has been teaching him the 12 Tantui and the Yang Style Tai Chi Form of Shaolin Chi Mantis Traditional Buddhist Gongfu and Taijiquan.

Coyote's Back in L.A. and Writing Away
Now that Coyote's life is back in the movie business his creativity has returned.
Being in San Diego was as inspiring as any prison camp would be. But who wants to write poems and songs about being in prison?
However, I am NOT The Coyote yet. To prove it to myself and everyone else -- I grew a beard. It's cool. It's silver like my hair. Sometimes people say I look like Sean Connery.
I am Richard Del Connor, movie producer. So the beard is for the world to trust me. Hey! It's working. It makes me look responsible. I am responsible. But it keeps me in my proper place. I'm not a musician/poet. I am a movie producer/screenwriter.

Masonic Kung Fu On Hold
The freemasons of California have a special office of people at their headquarters in San Francisco. They advertised during 2009 and 2010 that all Masons in financial trouble should contact them for assistance. I did.
They did their best to help, but actually had nothing to offer and no way to help keep my family from becoming homeless. Once we became homeless they offered lots of phone numbers for other organizations that offer assistance... but we had already contacted all of them.
I was hoping they could at least offer some job referrals or connect me to people in the movie industry who could help my career or offer me a job. Unfortunately, there aren't many masons in the movie business, the record business, or the music publishing business. So no referrals, jobs, or assistance were provided. At least I tried.
The masons used to be a job referral service, but they discontinued that in the 1970s. When I was in Las Vegas I made appeals to the lodge for any job referrals. I was only able to find one. He gave me work remodeling and cleaning his backyard. I was able to live in his garage for a couple months.
